Walks on the South West Coast Path from The Mole Resort

Looking to swap screen time for sea air? The South West Coast Path is the ultimate playground for walkers - and their dogs. Winding 630 miles along England’s south-west coastline, this legendary trail serves up cliff-edge views, secret coves and miles of wag-worthy freedom.

Here in North Devon, we’ve got one of the most spectacular stretches of the path right on our doorstep - and The Mole Resort is the perfect base for bite-sized adventures, whatever your walking style (or paw size).

Here are three stunning South West Coast Path routes within easy reach of The Mole, each packed with big views and dog-friendly charm.

1. Baggy Point from Croyde – 2.8 miles

A coastal classic. This short loop hugs the cliffs of Baggy Point, offering panoramic views of Woolacombe Bay and beyond. It’s fairly level, National Trust-maintained, and a local favourite for families and dog-walkers alike. Bonus points for seal spotting and post-walk treats in Croyde village.

Approx. 25 miles / 1-hour drive from The Mole Resort

2. Valley of Rocks Circular from Lynton – 2.9 miles

This dramatic circular walk begins in Lynton, winding through the legendary Valley of Rocks. Expect craggy cliffs, wild goats, and staggering sea views – it’s a rugged, moody section of the coast path that feels truly untamed. Leashes recommended where wildlife or sheer drops feature.

Approx. 24 miles / 50-minute drive from The Mole Resort

3. Clovelly to Mouth Mill – 4.2 miles

Step back in time with a walk that begins in the historic harbour village of Clovelly. Follow the coast path west to Mouth Mill beach, passing through woodland and along quiet clifftops with sweeping sea vistas. It’s less busy than other routes - perfect for peace-seekers and dogs who love a sniff-worthy trail.
